What’s Challenge 28 all about?

In 2024, the Children’s Commissioner reported that more than a quarter of a million children and young people (28%) who were referred to statutory mental health services were still waiting for support.

At Response, we understand the increasing pressure on statutory mental health services and the lengthy waiting lists that children and young people endure before receiving support.

So, we are asking you to challenge the fact that 28% of children and young people referred for support are still waiting - and to raise vital funds for Response. We seek to provide preventative mental health and wellbeing support for young people to relieve the pressure on statutory services, cut down waiting times, and reduce the need for crisis intervention.

How can I track my miles?

You can track your miles in whatever way works for you. Whether that’s through your favourite app, or just jotting them down as you go.

Using Strava or Fitbit? Connect your account to your JustGiving page and your miles will upload automatically, so friends and family can cheer you on as you smash your challenge! For further help on connecting your fitness tracker - visit the JustGiving support page.

We recommend only connecting your account once you’re ready to begin your challenge, as everything you log will be uploaded straight away. After linking, you can manage your sharing preferences by selecting Manage Strava/Fitbit Settings in the Fitness Activity section. This lets you control what details appear on your page.

Not using those apps? Check out Strava - if you're using devices such as Garmin or Apple Watch - you can sync up with your Strava account and ensure your miles are logged on JustGiving.

Alternatively, you can navigate to 'Add manual data' in the Fitness Activity section of your page and update your progress whenever you like.
