Supportive Steps

Supportive Steps

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Single Point of Access is the central hub for all mental health referrals in the county. Supportive Steps is a programme offered to parents and carers to help them get support without having to be placed on a waiting list.

Working with a Single Point of Access social prescriber

The new Supportive Steps Social Prescriber from Response is aimed at supporting cases which may not meet the threshold for need at the time of referral but signpost parents and carers to other appropriate and helpful support within the wider community. The worker will bring the expertise in Response for social prescribing and community connectivity.

When referrals are made into the Single Point of Access, the Response social prescriber will be allocated to appropriate young people in need of support.
