Response’s staffed community housing in Oxfordshire provides a safe and supportive environment that enables people to live as independently as possible. Staff are available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with an out-of-hours on-call service offering emergency support when needed. We offer a range of tailored support, including assistance with daily living tasks, access to mental health professionals, and other therapeutic resources. Our trained staff are dedicated to supporting each individual to improve their overall wellbeing and achieve their personal goals.
Service Information
These services support individuals that have already embarked upon their recovery journey to complete the last few steps towards independent living. Support focusses on continued recovery and symptom management, as well as prioritising applications to the local authority housing register.
Our community housing with on-site support services
Palm Court is located in a quiet area near parks and local amenities in Bicester. The service provides rooms, some of which include a kitchenette, alongside shared communal facilities. These include two communal kitchens, shared bathrooms and toilets, a shared garden, and a communal living room. The service is designed for people who are already largely independent and are taking the final steps in their journey with Response.
Rectory Road is located in the heart of Oxford, in the bustling Cowley Road area. This shared house offers communal kitchen and living facilities. Staff work alongside individuals who live here to develop independence, and the communal setting encourages peer support among residents.
Residents enjoy a variety of activities designed to empower individuals, as well as build independence and confidence for the future.

Support includes:
- Supporting residents around meaningful activity.
- Encouragement and support to better manage their Mental Health.

The services have a dedicated team of support workers and managers on site most days.
Local Community: Residents can use community services such as shops, GP, churches, leisure activities etc.
Visits: Friends and Family are welcome to visit are allowed to visit. However, no one under the age of 18.

FAQs
The service is for adults aged 18-65 with a mental health cluster between 4-17.
In general, we advise two years. However, we have supported individuals that have been here longer than this, and when they are ready to move on, staff will be there to support them every step of the way.
Referrals and applications to this service will be made directly to the service management team, however any enquires regarding placements can also be sent to referrals@response.org.uk
Staff will assist with support and anything else you may need. We also have small welcome packs with useful information for you.
We ask for 4 weeks’ notice in writing from individuals. Depending on where you are moving on to we can support you with this along with applying to the council if this is your preferred move-on method. We also offer support 6 weeks after your tenancy has ended with us.
Unfortunately we cannot accept individuals within these services with pets.
Smoking in the building, within communal areas, or individual living spaces is not permitted. Response is committed to creating a smoke free environment in all of its services, for both staff and the people we support, to enjoy clean air when indoors. There are however external smoking areas that can be used.
There is no internet provided. However, many individuals pay for their own Wi-Fi.
