Our commitment
Response is committed to protecting the welfare of all adults and young people who use our services. We believe everyone has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, and harm – and we take that responsibility seriously.
Our safeguarding approach means we:
- create safe environments across all our services
- ensure all staff and volunteers are trained in safeguarding
- follow safer recruitment practices, including personal references and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks
- act quickly and appropriately when a concern is raised
- work in partnership with statutory agencies and local safeguarding boards.
Raising a concern
If you are worried about the safety or welfare of someone, please do not wait. You can:
- speak to any member of Response staff
- contact our safeguarding lead directly
- raise a concern with your local council safeguarding team (see below).
Our safeguarding policies
Our policies set out how we prevent harm and respond when concerns arise.
Local safeguarding boards
Response works across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire. Each area has a statutory safeguarding board responsible for overseeing how organisations work together to keep people safe. You can report a safeguarding concern directly to the relevant local safeguarding team.
In an emergency
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
