New legal protections for tenants across England came into force on 1 May 2026, following the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 receiving Royal Assent last October.
As a supported housing provider, Response has ensured that our processes have been reviewed and updated in line with the new regulations, with all current residents kept informed throughout.
Dapo Olugbodi, Director of Housing and Estates at Response, said:
“Response welcomes the recent changes that came into force on 1st May 2026 as a result of the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, which provide more stability and security to tenants. As a supported housing provider, we have updated our documentation and processes in line with the new regulations and have communicated the changes with our current residents.
“At Response, part of our work involves supporting people to move into long-term accommodation when they are ready to move on and live with greater independence. These improved rights for tenants will go a long way to providing the people we support with long-term housing stability, be that in private or social housing, so we are pleased to see these changes taking place.”
