Papist Way is Response’s 24-hour supported living service in Oxfordshire, offering a safe and structured home environment for adults with complex mental health needs. Our compassionate, skilled team delivers person-centred support focused on developing life skills, enhancing wellbeing, and building confidence.
The recovery approach at Papist Way supports individuals who require ongoing structured care, providing personalised pathways towards independence. The service combines comfortable private accommodation with communal spaces to promote peer support, community connection, and a sense of belonging in a welcoming, inclusive setting.

At Papist Way, we deliver purposeful support that transforms lives. Residents gain confidence and work towards greater independence, while families recognise the positive impact on their loved ones’ wellbeing. Our varied and engaging activities encourage regular participation, supporting each individual’s recovery journey and helping them reconnect with the community as they build the skills to live more independently.
Residents enjoy a diverse range of engaging workshops and activities designed to support healthier lifestyles, encourage relaxation, and foster confidence and independence.

Support includes:
- Supporting residents around meaningful activity.
- Encouragement and support to better manage their Mental Health.
- One to one support in all areas with a named worker.
- Support to learn life skills.
- Support around managing their money (if applicable).
- Individualised Support Plans.
- WRAP Plans completed with residents.
Papist Way offers ten private bedrooms within a shared, supportive setting. Each resident has their own comfortable space, while also benefiting from access to welcoming communal areas including a shared kitchen, lounge, conservatory, and a spacious garden. This homely environment provides the perfect balance between privacy and connection, encouraging both independence and peer support.

FAQs
Adults with serious mental health challenges. Those who may not yet be ready for independent living. Papist Way offers a two-year tenancy to support recovery, living skills, and developing the confidence to move into the community independently.
The Papist Way team will aim to enable an individual to move on to more independent living arrangements within two years, but there is flexibility depending on the needs of the individual.

All meal preparation is planned and managed by both individuals living at the service and the staff team. All individual dietary requirements can be supported and the people we support are encouraged to develop a meal plan that is suitable to their cultural and nutritional needs.
Due to the communal living arrangements at Papist Way, pets for individuals cannot be accepted on referral.
WiFi is available throughout the service and is paid for collectively by all of the individuals being supported, meaning there is only a small charge per person.
Smoking in the building or within individual living spaces is not permitted. Response is committed to creating a smoke free environment in all of its services, for both staff and the people we support, to enjoy clean air when indoors. There are however external smoking areas that can be used.
