For those who may not be aware, today is World Gratitude Day. As CEO of Response, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who works within the organisation. Whether you work directly in services or as part of wider teams, Response wouldn’t be the same without you. Given the challenges of the past year and a half navigating lockdowns and restrictions, it never fails to amaze me how resilient, creative and dedicated our teams are. Your commitment to your job has meant that service users continued to receive the support they needed even under these difficult conditions. I want to publicly acknowledge and say thank you for all the hard work you do.

As CEO I’m also grateful for the amazing support that Response gets from all our partners in everything we do. In particular, our partners in our Children and Young People services and our Adult Mental Health services have been invaluable. These organisations have given us exceptional support during Covid, helping us to provide our services throughout the pandemic. This support has not gone unnoticed, it has been greatly appreciated and I want to take the opportunity to say thank you.

Lastly, I want to give thanks to our service users, residents and the network of friends and family who have adapted to the challenges of the past 18 months. You have had to change your routines and adhere to the evolving health restrictions in place across multiple lockdowns. We realise that has been difficult, but I would really like to thank you for doing your part to keep our residents and our staff safe.

All of these things build the organisation that we are and have allowed us to enact our mission of enabling people with mental health problems and complex needs live their lives to the full during this unusual time.
